S: In sling. Watchful. Minimal leg movement present when removing from sling, more reactive when placing back in. Lots of mutes in and around crate.

O: Weighed. Checked temperature - WNL. Removed upper heating pad, left lower heating pad in place on Low. Used warm water to clean built up waste from vent - vent port in sling not large enough for this bird. Some skin irritation surrounding vent, cleaned and applied layer Prep H. Performed laser therapy on spine. Performed PROM PT to both legs. Gave SQ fluids + med, oral meds, and tubed Emeraid. HF 52g rat and rabbit - bird took eagerly from tweezers and picked up from lid of food container on own.

O: Deep pain and weak motor present in both legs, bird opening and closing both feet but not using RD4. Lots of scabbing on RD4, no fractures felt but toe just stays tucked. Tail lax. Put bird on ground, bird not able to stand but kicked and tried to walk with both legs. Bird visual OU, mild debris in vitreous in both eyes (medially OS and lateral to pectin OD). OD pupil seems a little oval shape. Good PLRs. Scabbing on cere and on face rostral to L eye. Very bitey in hand.

A: Mentation much improved, bird has pain and use of both legs but not able to stand, not using RD4.

O: Cool to the touch, temp low. Responsive in hand, tried to bite, but very QAR. Gave meds and moved back to sling with increased heat support (high heat pads on top and on bottom of crate. Pulled R leg back when being placed back in sling.

O: Temp 106.9 in incubator, moved to cage in ICU. Bird much more alert and visually reactive than on admit. Took rads - RD4 is luxated and will likely need removed if bird survives neurological issues. Went ahead and gave another dose of hypertonic saline 5cc IV in right leg, followed by 5cc LRS IV. Gave 50cc LRS SQ in right inguinal area. Gave meds IM and orally, tubed 30cc emeraid. BCS is likely more of a 2 than a 1/5

A: Hypertonic saline and supportive care seem to be helping neuro issues. Bird still not standing and gets very agitated during treatments. Visually reactive OU today. RD4 luxated and will likely need removed. Likely suffering from head trauma in addition to lead toxicity

P: Rx CaEDTA in addition to DMSA. Monitor ability to stand

S: Sternal in incubator with eyes closed. In hand head tossing intermittently, non reactive to visual stimuli
O: Caught and collected blood for PCV/TS, CBC, Lead, Study from right leg. Gave 5cc Hypertonic Saline IV followed by 5cc LRS IV using 25G butterfly needle in left leg vein. Gave 0.5cc Terbinafine PO. Temp 90.7 in incubator.

A: More neurologic symptoms, has signs of trauma on face and legs that look like road rash. Does have elevated lead levels at 7.7 um/dL which could be contributing. Also possibility that he has another toxin or HPAI. Clotted well so currently not concerned for anticoagulant rodenticide and it is the wrong time of year for pesticides.

P: Rx DMSA, take rads tomorrow. Start on 30cc Emeraid and SQ fluids. Start HF BID tomorrow afternoon if tolerating emeraid.

O: GAve 0.11cc Midaz IM, temp read as low. Quick exam, head trauma with minor ocular trauma, skinny, old RD4 fx or luxation. Put in incubator at 101 degrees to warm up and let midaz take effect
A: Unknown trauma causing seizures in addition to poor BCS and hypothermic - very guarded prognosis
P: More thorough exam when warms up. Consider hypertonic saline, lead test?
